Great vaule.
Nice layout. Good condition. Friendly staff. True greens.
Great Day AT W.W.
Beautiful day, and not too crowded! The white tees were just the right degree of difficulty for me.
This course is great value
Wood side is really challenging 9 holes but my favorite of the 36 holes in this course. There is very little margin for error. Accuracy off the tee is and off the fairway is crucial. The greens are in unexpectedly good condition but difficult. I also like valley view.
Always a treat
Growing up in Cincinnati 30 years ago, I always looked forward to the once or twice a year I got to make the 45 minute ride to Weatherwax. Back then, playing only public golf courses, Weatherwax was by far the best course I had ever played, and to this day, I get pumped up when I am driving towards the entrance and see Highlands #9 to the right. I belong to a club now, but can't pass up the opportunity to play Weatherwax whenever I get the chance.
The course was in great shape and the greens rolled great, and the layout has and always will be one of my favorites.
Excellent Value
Heard the rumors of the course closing so felt compelled to play it one last time. Have played weatherwax numerous times over the years and I can honestly say it was in the best shape I've seen. Course was a little wet from the rain but the fairways were lush and greens rolled true. It will truly be a shame if this place closes, a big loss for anyone who has ever played here. I hope they find a way to keep the place open. It's a bit of a drive from Cincinnati but no doubt worth it.
Weatherwax lost
wat a shame we are losing such a spectacular golf course due to mismanagement by the city of Middletown. The fact that this course is lost to us is to be blamed wholly on the city of Middletown. It's a real shame this course is going to close.internationally recognized by Golf Digest as top 75 in the nation of Citi golf courses.now closing. The one bright spot in Middletown will be lost to us.
Best Course in Area!
There is not a better course in the area. The greens are extremely hard, fast and true. Comparable to greens at country club. They are tough, but putts can definitely be made. The course is laid out in a challenging, but logical way. I would argue that the starter was the only one we've come across in the area that actually thought about which 9 nine to send us off of.
It's a shame that the lease is expiring and the future of the course doesn't look good. Part of the problem is that it's a bit of a haul to get to Weatherwax from Cincy. But it's worth the drive and we'll be back before the lease runs out in November!
Great day at Weatherwax Golf Course
The Course was in great condition for this time of year. I heard this course may close because that would be loss to the community of Middletown OH.
Best in the area
I am a regular at Weatherwax and I walk the courses more than I ride them. Great views with great exercise. Course conditions are good and the greens are very fast. Highly recommended for all skill levels.
Great course - Great value
Weatherwax is the best public course in the Middletown area and is well worth the trip if you do not live nearby. The course is in very good shape and the layout is outstanding. One word of caution: the greens were very hard which added to the challenge. All four of the 9 hole sides are enjoyable with tees for any skill level.
The layout is awesome
Arthur Hills design is obvious when you see the greens. Fairly challenging when played from the tips. Only one par 3 under 200 yards. Play was very slow due to girls high school matches. Loved to course. All of the holes are visually appealing. Can't understand why everyone I talk to, talks smack about this course. I live in Glendale, so the drive is far. would love to play this course 3 or 4 times a month. Make the drive you will not be disappointed.
nice course
enjoyed the whole day every hole was beautiful best 12.50 i spent in a long time . can't wait to go back.
great shape great variety
hidden value worth the trip to play if you get a chance to play give it a try you won't be disappointed
Good Value
We enjoyed the course very much. The greens on the front 9 were abused. Probably by the tournament that played earlier in the morning. There were un repaired or badly reparied divot marks. We played Meadows and V.....?
The back 9 we played, the greens were in awesome shape. And the fairways were excellent as well.
You should play here.
Wouldn't expect the best course condition this time of year, plus a high school tourney had just finished, so this rating could have been better at a different time. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great municipal course
Greens were true and surprisingly fast. Fairways were well kept . Pace of play was good for three and foursomes.
Preferred Woodside 9 holes over Valley View
Had very enjoyable round, nice pace of play, with Woodside offering more interesting variety of hole layout and topography.
Great value
Beautiful course nestled in the hills just west of Middletown. 36 challenging holes to play with many sand traps and lakes.
Great course for a great price
The course was in great shape - tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were maintained and in excellent condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wanted a towel but none were out for sale. The desk employee tried to find one in a back room. He found one in the lost and found and offered it to me if all I wanted was to clean clubs. I wanted it for sweat since it was a warm day, so I declined. But the effort was exceptional.
A really nice place to play golf!
