Lakeland Golf Club
About
Lakeland Golf Club originally opened in 1964 and in 2002 it was expanded to an 18-hole championship course. Barry Serafin reworked the traditional design of the original layout into a challenging course that is still playable for a range of skill levels. The five diverse sets of tees make it even more accommodating. Seasoned players will find the championship tees to be a formidable test but the gold tees are tame enough for beginners. Its versatility makes the golf course an excellent venue for tournaments and outings. The course can be tight in some spots, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. Lakeland Golf Club's fairways are generous and seemingly tame but they are bordered by strategically positioned bunkers. There are also meandering streams and a few lakes that come into play on a few holes.

Unbelievable value
Used a hot deal, cost less than $1 per hole. Course was in very good shape. Talking to the manager they have done a lot of work to the course. They are putting on an addition to the club house that will have 2 golf simulators. Also have a very nice bar area (was not open during my round). Greens was soft and slow.
the greens had been aerated and seeded and they
needed some rain as we were informed. other
than that it is a beautiful layout with very friendly
and accomadating personnel.highly recommend.
Great Round
Had a 11:30 tee time but was able to tee off early. It rained some that morning so it wasn't very busy. Finished 18 holes in 2 hours and 10 minutes. Greens are starting to roll true. Previous month the greens were some what rough but they were in pretty good shape. Looking forward to playing this course again.
Solid Value, Minus the Greens
I wasn't really sure what to expect with this place when I booked a tee time here, but the place is nearby so I'd give it a try. The layout was quite surprising, with plenty of elevation changes closer to the clubhouse and some very exposed holes further away. Really enjoyed the short par 5 9th, with a tee shot down into a valley and an approach shot over water to an elevated green if you dare to go for it in 2. Fairways were in good shape and were finally firm since it's dried out here. I cannot say the same for the greens though, which were soft, bumpy, and patchy in areas. Meanwhile, the sand was quite hard, and the rough had some dried out areas (although not immediately off the fairway). The other amenities were pretty good, snack bar had good selection, the carts had some oomph to them and they even included a ball & club washer on it. And for a $14 hot deal (typical prices hover around $30 a piece), it's great value. If only they paid a little more attention to the greens, it would be an excellent place. For now though, it's decent
Hidden gem
Haven't played this course in a few years. The new design of some holes were nice. Tee boxes, traps and fairways were in great shape. Greens were rough because they had airated 3 weeks earlier and didn't use enough sand I think. Overall course was very nice and I will go back a few times this summer!
Nice little course
Course was in good shape and had some challenging holes. Could use some better food at the turn.
Not what is used to be...
I have played this course many times in the past and have always enjoyed it. The course was immaculate and always manicured. The pace of play was awesome with no issues. This year was a different experience. While the staff is friendly, the course was in rough shape with mowed grass clipping everywhere. The fairways appeared to have cut with a rotary mower instead of a reel mower. The play was so slow every hole had 3 groups stacked up. After 45 mins and one hole played I left and went to another course. I hope the staff makes some changes and goes back to the way it used to be. The course has real potential it would be a shame not to return to its former status.
This course was in Great shape.
Lakeland golf course was in very great shape. The greens where fast and very nice. The whole course and people that work there are super nice and it a joy to get to play golf there.
Tough course
I was very pleased with this course. Front nine player easier. back nine was tough for me. Very narrow fairways for and lost of tall grass surrounding rough. Staff was great!
Great Course
All except one hole that had a temporary green the course was in great shape. I love the layout and will not only recommend it to my friends but can't wait to play it again.
